However, it is important to note that the Safari browser has faced a total number of 1,139 vulnerabilities in its lifetime. This browser encountered the lowest number of flaws - 26 documented vulnerabilities - in the year 2022. Apple’s Safari recently crossed the one billion user mark to become the second most popular browser in the world. Microsoft’s Edge has encountered a total number of 806 vulnerabilities since its release and saw a 62% increase in the number of vulnerabilities from 2021. Mozilla Firefox is the second most vulnerable browser with 117 vulnerabilities, followed by Microsoft Edge with 103 security flaws in 2022.
The report also adds that each one of these vulnerabilities can corrupt a device’s memory, however, these issues can be patched by upgrading the Chrome browser to version 1.61. The report notes that Google Chrome is the only browser that has already been exposed to newly-discovered vulnerabilities for this month as well.
